Fire Department Incident Safety Officer

FEE:  FREE -  Only to Cook County First Responders

**Responders outside of a Cook County responding agency will be considered for registration / enrollment, and students or their departments will be invoiced $500 for the course cost.   

The goal of this course is to prepare students who will be designated by an incident commander (IC) as the incident safety officer (ISO).  This course will teach students how to monitor the various types of incidents including Fire, EMS, Technical Rescue, and Hazardous Materials scenes, and report to the IC the status of conditions, hazards, and risks present.  This course will also cover accident investigation and review procedures as well as how to develop and participate in a post-incident analysis.
